## What is SEO?

![](/files/-Mbo5kYcqrEyaUSqGIQb)

**SEO** stands for *Search Engine Optimization*, which is the practice of *increasing the quantity and quality of traffic* to your website through organic search engine results.

In other words, it is a way for your site to communicate with Google, to make it clear what your site is about. By that, when people search for your product or service on Google, your website will show up on result pages. The higher rank it gets, the higher opportunity to sell more goods.

# Schema & Snippets

**Schema & Snippets** refers to the overall concept of using structured data markup (like **JSON-LD**) to create rich snippets in search results.&#x20;

In short, **Google Structured Data (JSON-LD)** is a standardized format that helps structure information about a page and makes it machine-readable data. In other words, it classifies the page content in a unified way for search engines like Google to understand.&#x20;

This helps to create a more organized and better web overall enhancing the page ranking. For example, on a recipe page, the **JSON-LD** format helps Google understand what are the ingredients, the cooking time and temperature, the calories, and so on.

### :question: FAQ About JSON-LD

{% hint style="info" %}

#### It says you have enabled JSON LD on my store but what does this mean? What has been done to my store?

{% endhint %}

JSON-LD is an important element that helps structure the data on your site. This will help Search Engines to disambiguate elements and establish facts surrounding entities, which is then associated with creating a more organized, better web overall. JSON-LD has been added to the `<head>` section of the HTML document so that the Google search engines can read them. Google and some other search engine use this as a factor to rank in their search results.

{% hint style="info" %}
**How to check if my pages support rich results?**
{% endhint %}

Once JSON-LD has been added, you can always go to this [Testing tool](https://search.google.com/test/rich-results) from Google to check if JSON-LD is really integrated into each page or product of your store. Just paste the URL you want to check onto the box and click to see the result.

For more specific information, you can directly check it on your page code. Please go to a page you want to check ->Right click -> View page source -> Ctrl + F -> Search for "json", you will see the added code like this.

![](/files/gZ4ofP11DExWSwTbtOke)

It is noted here that the code of the FAQ schema will be applied to the specific page that you choose and fill in on the app. Therefore, if you want to check the FAQ schema code, please go to that page -> Right-click -> View page source -> Ctrl + F -> Search for "faq", you will see the added code like this.

![](/files/xbHBgfdfoqGccMAmEq52)

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Will JSON-LD alter my website at all?

{% endhint %}

Basically, JSON-LD does not change anything about your storefront but just helps a lot for SEO. Please refer to the post for more details: <https://sitechecker.pro/json-ld-markup/>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Will all information I filled in on the app will be shown on Google?**
{% endhint %}

Yes, when Google crawls your web page, it will crawl all the information you set up. If your store already had JSON-LD before, or there is more than one JSON-LD version on the site, Google will choose a more complete version to display, so you don't have to worry about conflicting issues. It's the reason why it's highly recommended to add our JSON-LD because it's the most complete and newly-updated version.

{% hint style="info" %}
**How long will it take for Rich Snippets to show in search engine results?**
{% endhint %}

Normally, it takes about 4 - 8 weeks for Google to show up your rich snippets on search result pages, sometimes up to 11 weeks. There is no exact time frame in that case.

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Why do I keep seeing warnings in the JSON-LD test?

{% endhint %}

There are warnings because you are missing some fields (for example, here Review field is lacking) so you will be recommended to add it. Read more details here: <https://rich-snippets.io/errors-and-warnings-on-googles-structured-data-test-tool/>&#x20;

![An image](https://sb.secomapp.com/images/docs/f1.PNG)

{% hint style="info" %}

#### If I cancel this app, will JSON LD remain enabled on the store?

{% endhint %}

It will stay with you until you ask it to be removed.

# Bulk Meta Tags

Meta Tags allow you to set Meta Titles and Description which are important elements when optimizing SEO on-site.&#x20;

The **Meta Title** defines the **title** of each page of a **website** (Homepage, product page, etc.) shown in search engine result pages (SERPs). It contains the keyword you wish to rank for and should be kept between 10 - 60 characters.&#x20;

The **Meta Description** is a summary of the page content that is displayed below the meta title. In the description, it is essential that several keywords should be included. Highly recommended that the description include between 50-170 characters to fully be shown on SERPs.

![](/files/-MbicNFbcrsZtpmDJf3b)

## :question: FAQ About Meta Tags

{% hint style="info" %}
**How do I check if the meta tags are added successfully?**
{% endhint %}

Please go to a page you want to check->Right click->View page source -> Ctrl + F -> Search for "Title" or "Description" to check the corresponding meta tag.&#x20;

![](/files/-MhpxhXf9ug-V-RF9Xlj)

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Is there any serious issue if I have the title/Meta description duplicated?

{% endhint %}

It is not a big deal when you have multiple Title/Meta description tags. However, you are highly recommended to have only one title/description. More than one title/description will confuse Google which to use and may ignore the page altogether. For more info, please refer to this post: <https://www.searchenginejournal.com/meta-description-mistakes/250897/>

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Why is Title / Description different in Google Search?

{% endhint %}

We can help you have it quickly submitted, but it is Google that decides when and which update is published. It may take a few days or months depending on how large your sitemap is.

It takes time for Google to save your change. Google needs a period of time to crawl all the sites it can recognize. So when Google has done crawling, you can see the change on the Google search result page. See more details here: <https://www.boostability.com/how-often-is-google-crawling-my-site/>

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Meta Title / Description is still missing despite being updated?

{% endhint %}

One reason for this issue is that your site is a Password protection page, so the information will not be read by any outsider’s tool including ours.

# Bulk Image ALT

**Alternative Text (ALT-text / ALT tag)** plays as an image translator on the website. With an appropriate ALT tag, your image is more likely to claim a higher rank in Google image search results. As search engines like Google cannot read the image themselves, the ALT tag helps them better understand the content of the image, so that they can show relevant content in response to a certain targeted keyword.

Moreover, ALT data describes the images in words on the web interface. When people visit your website with such a slow internet connection that it takes a long time for images on web pages to show up, the image ALT tag assists them in understanding what they are seeing on the screen.

Conventionally, updating ALT tags is very time-consuming (may take up to hours) as you have to do it manually. Now with the [Search Pie app](https://shopify.pxf.io/e1NBGO), ALT text is added to all your images within minutes. Let's go to SEO Tags & Content, and click the Bulk Image ALT tab to start adding it.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/xVDA87ujPoZccysEt6f6" alt=""><figcaption><p>Bulk Image Alt.</p></figcaption></figure>

Once the app interface is loaded, you will be able to quickly add alt information by selecting the **Use default template**. You can create the appropriate tags by customizing your template when you choose **Create your own template.** When you're done with your ALT text template as your product tag, be sure to click the ***Save*** button to save the alt information for the images.

<figure><img src="/files/BCNzN0MBO4gA2JEyF6Kl" alt=""><figcaption><p>Bulk Image Alt - Create your own template - Save.</p></figcaption></figure>

For **Premium plan**, you can add ALT tags to a maximum of 500 products. And if you are running a business with many more unlimited products, our **Enterprise plan** will be the best choice.

With the **Premium** **plan**, the ALT tags will be updated automatically for new products based on the template you have set up. Simply also enable the **Auto add Product ALT tags** button and you can forget this task when any new image is uploaded.

<figure><img src="/files/EKlYRcwj5YpaxDQgbGeh" alt=""><figcaption><p>Auto add Product ALT tags.</p></figcaption></figure>

If you already add the ALT tags in Shopify or in our Manual Meta tags feature and now want to use the template to apply to all the ALT tags of your products, kindly choose to overwrite edited content in AI Generate/Shopify.

<figure><img src="/files/EQ2SG2upzYlJSYPicb2K" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To add ALT text to all images on your site (not only Product images but also Collection & Blog Post images), please [**upgrade to the Enterprise plan**](https://sb.secomapp.com/plan) to master this feature.

## :question: FAQ About Image Search

{% hint style="info" %}

#### I added ALT-tags for all images on my site (including products, collections, blog posts) with Boost Image Search, and I also enabled all auto options. However, when checking my site on Lighthouse, why does it show "Image elements do not have \[alt] attributes"?

{% endhint %}

If you found that the images of products/collections/blogs have not been added with ALT-tags, the reason is that your theme does not support alt attributes. In this case, you can contact us for more support.

Another reason is that your logo, label, or banner images are missing ALT tags. Then, don't worry. Google doesn't really crawl these images, it pays more attention to your product images. So you can ignore these warnings since all the important images are added ALT text already.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}

#### How to revoke Alt-text?

{% endhint %}

Alt-text is very helpful which helps Google understand your image content. You can read more about its role here: <https://moz.com/learn/seo/alt-text> Search Pie app does not have an auto feature to help you revoke alt-text. But you can chat to us in-app or write to <support@secomapp.com> and let us know the template of your old alt-text and we’ll help you handle it manually.

# Keyword Explore

Not only can you track the search volume monthly, but also know about the trend and competition for a keyword.

<figure><img src="/files/RZmy522lRDn1sqp0pe2B" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To further explain the terms you might find unfamiliar, “Search Volume” refers to the volume (or number) of searches for a specific keyword in a given timescale. "Trend" shows how the monthly search volume for a keyword has changed over the last 12 months and "Competition" is understood as to how competitive ad placement is for a keyword.

When you enter the keyword you want to research, and click check, our app will show a report of this keyword and the words or phrases related to the keywords based on the country and the language you choose.

<figure><img src="/files/edQFJfvkG4Qyc61Zh3pE" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the Trend column, you can see a diagram showing the fluctuation of the search volume in 12 months and the percentage of this keyword change over one year.

The level of competition is determined by the number of ad slots filled divided by the total number of ad slots available. There are three levels displayed on this feature: high, medium, and low. If the level of competition is low, it means the level of competition between the advertiser is low. This is also the same with other levels.

Besides, you can also use the filter to narrow down the number of keywords shown in this tool. Currently, there are four filters for the maximum and minimum volume and word count, the status of the competition, and adding keywords.

<figure><img src="/files/GM88NVC52I9NMArGDory" alt=""><figcaption><p>Add Filter</p></figcaption></figure>

You can also download a report for the keyword you research just by clicking the "Export" button on the top right of the screen.

### :question: **FAQ About Broken Link**

{% hint style="info" %}

#### **How long does it take to scan broken links?**

{% endhint %}

Normally, it will take about 5 - 10 minutes. However, with a large-sized website, it might take up to 30 - 45 minutes. While waiting, you can continue using other features or even exit the app. Then, come back later to see the result. Besides, just enable the Auto Scan and Fix button to let the app auto-clean all the broken links daily. You don't have to worry about this issue any longer.

# Long URLs

"How to create SEO-friendly URLs?" is a common question that many website owners face up to. There are different factors of link evaluation that search engines use, including the length of a link. A high-quality URL should NOT exceed the limit of 128 characters. Hence, the Long URLs feature was born to assist you in detecting too-long links and fixing them quickly.

<figure><img src="/files/3FOWa7C5mPCTmD9IQUWo" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You just need to click **Scan button,** and then the app will show you the result below:&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/sGKxaUM2gbHRYXWUGdmm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

And if you want to edit those long URLs into shorter ones, let’s [**upgrade to the Enterprise plan**](https://apps.shopify.com/seo-booster) which allows you to break way more obstacles in your SEO journey! you can choose as many long URLs as you want then click on the “**Bulk Edit**” button and our app will help you shorten long URLs automatically. Or else, you can even click Edit to manually shorten the long URLs one by one.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/KoHP0L9MaHL10nd7M9ov" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can also edit the long URLs on your own by clicking the fix button next to the long URLs you want to shorten, then click Save.&#x20;

At the bottom, you can see the History of URLs shortened. If you don’t want to take them back, all you can do is click the revert button.

<figure><img src="/files/Fs0nm9s7ZrJVF9hd9Nv3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Internal Link

Internal links point to another page or resource within the same website or domain. They are an essential part of website navigation and structure, helping users and search engines navigate through the various pages and content on a website.&#x20;

Internal links can connect related content, guide users to relevant information, and help distribute page authority and ranking throughout a website.

<figure><img src="/files/OuyltZTLk1IUaU7gh4mp" alt=""><figcaption><p>(source: ahrefs)</p></figcaption></figure>

For example:

"Here is an example of an internal link. Learn more about our [Basic SEO terms](/basic-knowledge/basic-seo-terms). Find out about our features here."

In this case:

* "Basic SEO terms" is the **anchor text**, which tells the user and search engines what the linked page is about.
* "<https://docs.searchpie.io/basic-knowledge/basic-seo-terms>" is the URL of the page containing the definition of SEO terms. This is a relative link, indicating that the linked page is within the same website.&#x20;
* Clicking on the link would take the user directly to the SEO terms page on your website.

Now, let's check out how Internal link feature of SearchPie app works! You can find it on URL Control section as below.&#x20;

First, the Analytics helps you check the current performance of your internal links. You just need to click **SCAN**, and it takes some minutes to see the report.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/X5CKda0qcEUue2JeY768" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The feature will show you a detailed report about the status of your internal links.

First of all, it will provide you with a list of "children" URLs. The number beside will tell you there are how many "parent" URLs which link to that child URL.

<figure><img src="/files/BHME8174kRH4LNeQy83H" alt=""><figcaption><p>Internal links</p></figcaption></figure>

The next table shows the frequency of the anchor text displayed on your website. In other words, it counts the number of a specific anchor text that appears on your pages.

<figure><img src="/files/HEMMw2xc07shAZ7bTqla" alt=""><figcaption><p>Top anchor text</p></figcaption></figure>

And last but not least, the Analytics tab provides a report of Orphane Page issues: Pages to which no link is redirected to.

<figure><img src="/files/qlITzh4OgdyDeoMH9i8p" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If you're on Enterprise Plan, you can fix this issue in our app in the **Setup section**. You just need to enter the URL of orphaned page issue, and then enter the anchor text, and click **Add.**

<figure><img src="/files/8tOJwDY1eQ5KMJvrBK2h" alt=""><figcaption><p>Internal link - Setup</p></figcaption></figure>

# Site Speed

# Speed Optimization

The new **Speed Up** feature helps boost your store performance with just **1 click**.\
By optimizing your store speed, you can improve user experience, reduce loading time, and potentially improve conversion rates.

Depending on your current plan, the app can automatically apply advanced optimizations including: Minify CSS, Minify JS, Lazy-loading Images, etc...

### How to Optimize Your Store Speed

#### Step 1: Go to Optimize Speed

Navigate to: **Site Speed → Optimize Speed.** Then click the **Optimize Now** button.

<figure><img src="/files/KHfCCNFFHyKTcPudIvWT" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

***

#### Step 2: Choose Your Optimization Method

You will see 2 options:

* **Duplicate current theme and optimize**
* **Select existing theme**

<figure><img src="/files/25sjVTTMri9HEZbA4FFs" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can optimize your current live theme directly. However, we strongly recommend duplicating the theme first so you can safely test how the optimization works on the copied version before publishing it live.

This helps minimize unexpected issues and is the safest approach.

***

#### Step 3: Duplicate Your Theme (Recommended)

Select the option: **Duplicate current theme and optimize,** and it leads you to the Online Store page. Let's click here to duplicate your current live theme.

<figure><img src="/files/iBZVaQaxoqnvy0DLBxub" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After that, return to the previous app tab and click **Optimize Now** again.

The app will automatically activate all available optimization options to help improve your store speed.

<figure><img src="/files/iu7qVuADDqs5idKFt2GB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

***

#### Step 4: Publish the Optimized Theme

Once the optimization is completed, let's click button: **Publish theme**

<figure><img src="/files/TLHbgdTzAbgRRJWhXvEN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Important Note About Speed Score

The optimization actions take effect immediately after activation.

However, please note that Google may take up to **7 days** to recalculate and update your speed score.

So if you do not see the score increase right away, there is no need to worry.

If your score still does not change after 7 days, please contact our support team and we will help check it for you.

# Instant Page

Our Instant Page feature will help your store automatically prefetch URLs in the background after a user hovers over a link. This will bring almost instantaneous loading times and improve both the user experience and perceived performance.

When a user has hovered over a link for 65 ms, there's a chance that they might click on the link and go to a new page. Instant Page starts preloading at this moment, leaving an average of 300 ms for the new link to preload.

With this feature, all you have to do is just go to Instant Page in Site Speed section, and toggle on. Just one click.

<figure><img src="/files/z5viXjQVeT871Usbtm4X" alt=""><figcaption><p>Enable Instant Page</p></figcaption></figure>

## :question: FAQ About Instant Page

{% hint style="info" %}
**How does Instant Page affect my SEO?**
{% endhint %}

Instant Page feature is used to speed up your page loading, bringing a better experience to your customers. It does not have direct effects on Search Engine Optimization, however, if the loading speed of your website is too slow, it might cause the shorter time on site, and then affect your SEO negatively.

Therefore, improving page loading better is highly recommended to optimize your site to the best.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Why my score on Page Speed Insights didn't change even when I enabled Instant Page?**
{% endhint %}

Instant page uses just-in-time preloading (cheating latency) — it preloads a page right before a user clicks on it. Therefore, it won't have the clear effects on your speed score on Page Speed Insights.

If you want to improve that score, it would be better to follow the instructions from Page Speed Insights and Google.

# Image Compress

One of the best practices to improve the speed loading of your store is image compression. Search Pie app will automatically compress your product images to minimize file size without degrading quality to an unacceptable level. As a result, the time required for images to be sent over the Internet or downloaded is greatly reduced.&#x20;

Compressed images will help improve store loading time, user experience, and SEO.

Here please choose the **Compress** button.

<figure><img src="/files/bEVxLUEZ6NOLAMtWvBFZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After you choose compress, all your product images will be compressed to the limit of your app plan:&#x20;

* Free Plan: 50 compressed images
* Premium Plan: 500 compressed images&#x20;
* Enterprise Plan; unlimited compressed images.&#x20;

Also, you can check out a detailed history of compressed images below. It is available for you to backup the original images. You can restore an individual image or whole set of images with a press of a button.

<figure><img src="/files/6y9Kpunq7RM9vwDVtTZn" alt=""><figcaption><p>History</p></figcaption></figure>

### Get extra image compressions

If you've used all of the free image compressions included in your plan, you can purchase additional image compressions directly from the app without upgrading your subscription.

This option is available when the number of **New images** exceeds the free image compressions included in your current plan.

#### Compress new images

1. Go to **Site Speed** → **Image Compress**.
2. If you've reached your image compression limit, click **Get extra compressions**.
3. A pop-up will display:
   * The number of **New images** available for compression.
   * Your estimated compression cost.
4. Review the information and click **Continue to checkout** to complete the purchase.
5. Once the payment is completed, the app will automatically compress your new images.\
   \ <br>

   <figure><img src="/files/IY3GO2PxShe2yFVu7lDQ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

   <figure><img src="/files/egncAzDJ8vcn2e6D5ONY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Enable Auto Compress

To automatically compress newly added product images in the future:

1. Go to **Site Speed** → **Image Compress**.
2. Turn on **Auto Compress**.
3. Complete the checkout process if prompted.
4. From then on, any newly added product images will be compressed automatically, so you won't need to manually compress them again.<br>

   <figure><img src="/files/7bIrNxzGnCoXDYGo9PdB" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

> **Note**\
> Auto Compress only applies to newly added images. Images that were uploaded before Auto Compress was enabled will not be compressed automatically.

## :question: FAQ About AMP

{% hint style="info" %}
**Why do the AMP pages not have an absolutely similar look to the original pages?**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

The AMP pages are set in a default theme from Search Pie, which is believed to be the most optimized interface for your store on mobile phones. Besides, to optimize the loading speed of mobile pages, AMP will prioritize delivering the most essential content of the web page, therefore, it might look different from your original pages.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Do AMP pages change my store's mobile design?**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

No. Your orginal mobile design will stay unchange, the AMP pages won't change your mobile design.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
**Why don't my AMP design change appear on Mobile?**&#x20;
{% endhint %}

Please ensure you are viewing the correct AMP URL, not the orginal mobile URL. This is example of AMP URL:&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/jeoIqxo9q0LYCWalFW8O" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**How long does it take for Google to index AMP pages?**
{% endhint %}

Usually, Google takes 7 - 10 days to index AMP pages, and it also depends on how often Google crawls your website.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
**How does AMP benefit SEO?**
{% endhint %}

Google's ranking systems apply a set of standards to all websites on the search result page. It means that thanks to the advantage of loading speed, AMP pages will be evaluated and ranked higher by Google on mobile devices because mobile-friendly is one of the most essential ranking factors for Google.

{% hint style="info" %}
**How to check if AMP is successfully integrated or not?**
{% endhint %}

To make sure that AMP pages are successfully integrated, you can go to your original pages, right-click and click on “View Page Source,” or press Ctrl + U, to see the page's source. In the new tab, press Ctrl + F, and fill “amp” in the box, if you find the AMP link on the HTML code, it points out that AMP was enabled successfully.

The AMP links will look like this example: <br>

![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/7FDffSP4VVB-YA9F4Q89OQNlGohsVOKeM3yvNRErUNGWrW2vhaDRgOWjERHFEw_vQyCUnP2freuFoZEcGN2VWLk9TK5XDNu35th_aZP0qsZknnPqBdnggm3L8FbRzMf5mnnYC861)

When Google crawls your site, it will find out this "href" of the meta tag, which points to your AMP pages, and then Google might index them in some days.

# Indexing

## Google Index

Our Google Index feature helps you to submit the **Sitemap**.&#x20;

A sitemap is a file that contains links to every publicly accessible page on a website. Sitemaps enable search engines to find every page and product on your site, which allows search engines to crawl more intelligently. Normally, the process of manually updating the sitemap is very painful. But with Search Pie, you need to do only some easy steps.&#x20;

To get started, please go to the Google Index, and click **CONNECT** to log in to your Google Search Console account.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/kNBo3NeEDzI1FHASj9Fg" alt=""><figcaption><p>Google Index - Connect Google Search Console</p></figcaption></figure>

When you connect Google Search Console successfully, the app helps you submit your sitemap effortlessly in just one click. Wonder if your sitemap has been submitted properly. Here you can see every single public link that the app has submitted to Google in the list as below.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/U66agVaxpGpk0refHjXy" alt=""><figcaption><p>Submit sitemap &#x26; Auto request index for new pages.</p></figcaption></figure>

Please notice that, if your link cannot be found by site crawlers, there’s no way it can appear on search engine results.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/GvQi6qdCRcqKhW02Wc5v" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In case you want to request an index for new pages automatically, we have auto feature for that. After submitting your sitemap, the manage sitemap tab will appear and you can enable the auto tool.

#### URL Verifications

With this tool, you check if your pages have been indexed; if not, it will inform Google immediately.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/iq8rYFXbwnCpAuG3c4VV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can click **Request index** if you want Google soonc rawl this page. Also, if there's any page that you want not to be indexed, you can click **Request noindex**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/dvSUxIL1myolFegKcp14" alt=""><figcaption><p>Request noindex.</p></figcaption></figure>

After Indexing, you can re-check to see whether it has been submitted successfully. Please note that it might take Google a few weeks to read your page, so please stay tuned .

\
IndexNow
--------

IndexNow helps SearchPie automatically notify supported search engines when your store pages are added, updated, or deleted. This allows search engines to discover your latest content changes faster.

IndexNow is currently supported by search engines such as Microsoft Bing, Naver, Seznam.cz, Yandex, and Yep.

To get started, go to **Google Authority > Indexing**, then select the **IndexNow** tab.

<figure><img src="/files/CCPoev5T0sWzks5Fmjmz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

***

#### Activate Auto Submit to IndexNow

SearchPie can automatically submit updated store pages to IndexNow.

To enable this feature, click **Activate** in the **Auto submit links to IndexNow** section.

<figure><img src="/files/5qyGKeciNiquNDnQX2rh" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After activation:

* Product and collection page updates are submitted within about 10 minutes.
* Other supported page updates are checked and submitted twice a day.

You do not need to submit these updated pages manually after activating this feature.

**Note:** Submitting a URL to IndexNow does not guarantee that it will be crawled or indexed immediately.

***

#### Check Submission Statistics

After Auto Submit is activated, you can track submission performance in the summary section.

<figure><img src="/files/JCepmGpLFzVCXJr3P3DF" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The statistics include:

* **Total submission:** Total number of submission requests sent.
* **Success submission:** Number of requests accepted for processing.
* **Success submission rate:** Percentage of successful submissions.

These numbers help you check whether SearchPie is successfully notifying search engines about your store updates.

***

#### Submit a URL Manually

You can also submit a specific URL manually when you want search engines to be notified immediately.

Click **Submit manually**, enter the URL, and follow the instructions in the app.

<figure><img src="/files/BgEVIjii1SOMDGyJwndz" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Manual submission is useful when:

* You have published an important new page.
* You have made major changes to an existing page.
* You have removed or redirected a page.
* You do not want to wait for the next automatic submission.

Make sure the URL belongs to your store and is publicly accessible.

***

#### Check IndexNow History

Submitted URLs will appear in the **IndexNow history** section.

<figure><img src="/files/mtfQ1hGJLM7JdOsfEymY" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Here, you can review recent submission activity and check whether each request was sent successfully.

If you see **No submissions yet**, it means no URL has been submitted through IndexNow. You can click **Activate** to enable automatic submissions or use **Submit manually** to submit your first URL.

***

## Important Notes

A successful submission means the search engine has received the notification from SearchPie. It does not guarantee immediate crawling, indexing, or ranking.

Search engines still decide whether and when a page is crawled or indexed based on factors such as page accessibility, crawler permissions, content quality, canonical tags, noindex settings, and overall website quality.

## :question: FAQ About Sitemap

{% hint style="info" %}

#### I have submitted my Sitemap. But I can't see the sitemap in Google Search Console.

{% endhint %}

The app will submit your sitemap to the Google search engine and tell if your site exists. So you can be found at Google next time when it is done crawling your data but not on the Google Search Console (GSC). This is just a tracking tool you can add to the sitemap page of GSC.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}

#### I have already submitted my sitemap to Google. My store is not showing in Google search when I type in my store name. Do you have any suggestions to make it one of the first to appear?&#x20;

{% endhint %}

It will take time for Google to crawl your site. Perhaps it is already showing on the Google search result page but deep behind the first page.

{% hint style="success" %}
Upgrade to [**Enterprise Plan**](https://sb.secomapp.com/plan) to enjoy more powerful tools! :muscle:&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## :question: **FAQ About URLs Verification**

{% hint style="info" %}

#### **Are all the URLs on my store indexed when I click on Index Now for my domain?**

{% endhint %}

The feature URLs Verification can help you inform Google about one new page at one time. In other words, if you want to index the whole site in one click, Sitemap will be an appropriate choice.

# Speed Optimization

#### Why is speed important to your website?&#x20;

Website speed is essential for user experience. A fast-loading website helps visitors access content instantly, reduces bounce rates, and keeps users engaged longer. When pages load slowly, users are more likely to leave before taking any action, which can directly impact conversions and overall site performance.

**Speed also plays an important role in how Google evaluates your website.** Google considers page speed as a ranking factor and tends to crawl fast websites more efficiently. Faster pages are easier for Google to access, crawl, and index, which improves their chances of becoming visible in Google Search results and supporting long-term organic growth.

#### What is considered good website speed?&#x20;

A “good” website speed means your pages load quickly and smoothly for users, without delays or layout issues. In general, Google recommends that a website loads within **2–3 seconds** to provide a good user experience.

To evaluate your website speed, you can use [**Google PageSpeed Insights**](https://pagespeed.web.dev/). If your score is **50+ on mobile** and **70+ on desktop**, your website speed is considered good.

If your score is lower than these benchmarks, it indicates that your website may need further optimization to improve performance and user experience.

<figure><img src="/files/8miMQUSoDvpVTUwoDFQ8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### How to optimize my website speed

Improving website speed is a complex and time-consuming process. It often requires in-depth technical work, including code optimization, script handling, asset compression, and performance tuning to ensure the website runs smoothly without breaking existing functionality. For many store owners, handling these tasks manually can be challenging and risky without the right technical expertise.

**Therefore, let's sign up for our Speed Up service.** It's a one-time payment service, with a 3-month warranty. Our technical expert will help optimize your website’s performance safely and efficiently, allowing you to improve loading speed to 50 + Mobile and 70+ Desktop. By signing up, you can save time, reduce effort, and ensure your website stays fast, stable, and optimized for both users and search engines.

# VIP AMP Customization

Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is a web component framework, which aims to improve the user experience with a faster loading speed of mobile pages. AMP pages always come high on the list of priorities of Google because the page takes less time to crawl.

## Why AMP is important?&#x20;

According to Google, the average user will leave a page if it takes longer than 3 seconds to load – considering that the [average load speed online is 15 seconds](https://unbounce.com/page-speed-report/) means that there are a significant number of sites being abandoned without a user ever seeing the content or getting an impression of the brand. AMP can ensure your web page loads within 3 seconds to retain users and excel compared to competitors who may be slower.

AMP is also important for your Google Search rankings. Speed is a significant factor when it comes to rankings as Google wants to provide the best experience for it’s users (and subsequently keep them using the search engine so that ads can be served) so ensuring that you have pages that load as quickly as possible is key to a high position. Bounce rate and website traffic also count towards your ranking so by decreasing how often users abandon your site you can decrease your bounce rate, increase your traffic and achieve a higher ranking in SERPs.

## Why should you choose VIP AMP Customization package?&#x20;

Basically, the AMP customizing function is available on our app for Home, Product, Collection, Blog & Blog post pages. However, the normal customization on the app is the default template with basic information and simple page design. It sees the difference compared to your original pages.&#x20;

**Therefore, our VIP AMP Customization is a much more optimal option!**&#x20;

VIP AMP Customization helps you to customize the AMP page to be up to **90% similar to the original theme pages**. After some days of analyzing your websites, our technical expert will customize 5 kinds of pages, including Home, Product, Collection, Blog & Blog Post.&#x20;

With this package, you don't need to spend hours to customize your AMP anymore, which saves lots of time, effort, and resources in SEO optimization. Besides, it's the best choice for anyone that doesn't good at page building, so it's highly recommended!

Our VIP AMP Customization is only available on the Enterprise Plan and AMP single-feature plan.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/8lntXCR0yKDGpP0WLZOw" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Especially, if you're on the top-ranking local listing on Google Map, you definitely can drive more leads to your business. In this guide, we provide a service called Local SEO package to help you gain visibility for local search queries on Google's search results.

### What is Google Local Map Pack?

The Google Maps Pack (or the Google Local Map Pack) is the most prominent and sought-after position in Google's local search results. It displays a list of top-ranking businesses for your search location. In the Google Map Pack, businesses are listed alongside their geographic location, contact information, hours, and other helpful information.

<figure><img src="/files/tGYXNFj2yp9zeY2RRlS1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

With this function, it's becoming easier for users to seek a specific business they're looking for, and for merchants to drive customers to their stores.

### Why does Google Local Map Pack matter?

Google Pack is the ideal means which can take up any prime real estate in the Google local search results. This is the most important placement for any business as the 1st spot gets the highest click-through rate of all listings.

The Map Pack matters for SEO because it can be a significant driver of organic traffic if optimized correctly. Optimizing for the Google Map Pack brings many benefits, including:

* More organic traffic – Higher placement in the Google Map Pack often means a higher click-through rate, driving more traffic to your business’s website.
* More local traffic – Ranking high in the Map Pack means your business is one of the first listings users see when searching for a business, meaning they are more likely to navigate to your physical location through Google Maps.
* More phone calls – Getting to the top of the Google Map Pack could attract more users and direct them to call your business directly. This may result in more leads for your business.
* Competitive advantage – Ranking higher than your competitors in the Map Pack could lead to more customers, leading to more customer reviews and overall more visibility for your business. In a competitive market, this can make all the difference.
* More mobile traffic – The Map Pack takes up most of the visual space on a mobile phone screen, so users are faster to respond and more likely to pull up your listing while on the go.
* Enterprise SEO – Users will often skip businesses that don’t meet the parameters for a specific location, which can be a huge issue if you have a large enterprise. Geo-specific listings for your physical locations can be a significant driver of traffic for your enterprise.

## IV. REFUND PROCESS

To request a refund, users must:

* **Contact our support team at <searchpie@pielab.io> or through Livechat channel on the Search Pie app interface.**
* Provide relevant information, including the reason for the refund request, purchase details, and any supporting documentation or evidence.

**We review every refund request and aim to respond in two business days.**

If you haven't received the refund you're expecting, but it's been fewer than 10 business days, the refund may still be in process. Refunds can take 3 to 10 business days to appear on your card statement.

*\[\*] If the customer submits a refund request after uninstalling the app, please note that the refund process may experience delays as we will need to engage in collaboration with Shopify to facilitate the refund claim. This additional step is necessary to ensure a smooth and compliant refund procedure.*

**\[\*\*] For any transaction of app subscription, Shopify is entitled to retain a fee amount regarded as a processing fee and transfer the rest of the subscription fee to our account on a certain due date.** Once it's time we did receive the money, we then go proceed to transfer it back to you instantly. That's why a refund request is successfully approved from our side, you might need to wait for a few more days to receive the balance though, and the refund fee might not be in full.

For more information, please take a look at this Shopify docs: \[<https://shopify.dev/docs/apps/billing/purchase-adjustments/refunds>]

## V. REFUND METHOD

Approved refunds may be processed in the original payment method: Refunds will be issued back to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Refund requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to approve or deny refund requests at our discretion. Factors considered may include the validity of the request, verification of the reported issues, and adherence to this refund policy.

The following items or services are non-refundable for the Search Pie app:

# General Questions

How it helps? How to set up? How to remove? How long does it take to scan? etc.

### 1. Is SearchPie free to use?&#x20;

Yes. SearchPie's Starter plan is free forever and includes a full SEO report, bulk meta and ALT tag optimization, sitemap, image compression, and broken link detection. Paid plans start at $39/month (Premium) for stores needing AI-generated content, keyword tracking, and Google Search Console integration, with Enterprise and Plus tiers for larger stores.

### 2. Does SearchPie support AI search optimization (AEO/GEO)?

Yes. SearchPie generates JSON-LD schema (Product, FAQ, Review, Breadcrumb) that helps AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews understand and cite your store's content. The Premium and Enterprise plans add dedicated AEO features to further improve visibility in AI-generated answers.

### 3. Does SearchPie slow down my website?

No. SearchPie is built as an SEO tool as well as a speed optimizer, including image compression, CSS/JS minification, lazyload, and instant page loading. Its code mainly affects the \<head> tag and is designed to have minimal impact on Core Web Vitals.

### 4. What schema/structured data types does SearchPie generate?

SearchPie generates JSON-LD for Product, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Organization, and Review/AggregateRating schema. Enterprise and Plus plans add advanced schema types, including sitelinks, article, and local business schema for stores with blog content or multiple locations.

### 5. How is SearchPie different from other Shopify SEO apps?

SearchPie combines SEO, site speed, and AI-search optimization in one app rather than requiring separate tools. It automates bulk meta tag generation, AI-written product descriptions, image compression, JSON-LD schema, and Google Search Console, backed by 24/7 live support.

### 6. Is my store data safe with SearchPie?&#x20;

Yes. SearchPie does not collect or store merchant data beyond what's needed to run its SEO features, such as editing products, theme content, and online store pages. Full details are available in SearchPie's privacy policy.

### 7. Does SearchPie work with Shopify Online Store 2.0 themes?

Yes. SearchPie is fully compatible with Online Store 2.0 themes and operates through Shopify's app extension framework, so most features work without directly editing theme code — this also helps preserve settings when switching themes.

# SEO for Shopify: SEO process and plan

This is what you need!

![](/files/-MboDiRkDGolyndPqh_K)

When you start a new store, it must be overwhelming with tons of work and knowledge. SEO is one of them but you should know the basic of SEO upfront so later on you don’t have to worry about the mess you leave behind at the beginning.&#x20;

SEO itself is such a huge field for a starter. At the beginning I spent days and months looking for some materials letting me know what exactly a SEO-er does when they have a project, a website to work on. I ended up drowning in 1000 pages and videos of fragmented answers. So I decided to share with you the process of SEO and the free tools that we have to use along the way.

First, SEO is about improving ranking of your webpage on search engine results page. In order to do so, you have to optimize your site based on the search engine **secret** algorithm. Yes, it’s a secret, they also modify it gradually. It’s lucky enough that most of the big ingredients are known. These main ingredients are: keywords and their placements on the page, the popularity and trust of the page (mostly based on backlinks), the quality of content (how users react with your content, will they stay for long to thoroughly digest the content, or bounce away quickly).

### Step 1: Analyze the SEO website

If you are an absolute starter, you should start off with integrate Google Search Console. Google nalytics for your Shopify store, then analyze your online shop.

* On-page factors: Keywords, internal links, site speed
* Off-page factors: Building backlink

– Create an XML sitemap and submit it to Google and Bing through your Webmaster Tools accounts you just created. All Shopify stores automatically generate a sitemap. ([www.yourstore.com/sitemap.xml](http://www.yourstore.com/sitemap.xml))

– Use Google Webmaster Tools to check for 404/500 errors, duplicate content, or any crawling errors.

![](/files/-MboDpJpdgkxiX1EML5g)

You should play around with Webmaster tools at this stage and if you site has any marked red problems by Google, you should go back and forth to fix them.

If the site is no longer a newbie, you can go ahead and analyze it deeper with the criteria listed in the table in step 2

Tools to use: Google webmaster tools. Google analytics

### Step 2: Research keyword

Keyword research has one simple goal: to get *you* to understand how your visitors think and talk about your product or service. “Talk to your customers in their language.” Their language, not yours. Just imagine a Math professor teaching a group of 5 year-old kids, and you would know what I mean.

The advantages of identifi main and ‘sub’ keywords are listed below.

* Build a structured website, and content
* Know what your customers are looking for
* Help your customer find you, increase valuable traffic to your site
* Save time SEO-ing Keyword nobody search for

A good keyword list should be built on products/service, customer insight, competitors, experience, etc.

Tools: There are so many tools out there but you have to start simple. Start with your brain by writing down the words people use when talking to you about your products or services.

You should ask yourself question like:

* Who is your audience?
* What are you going to offer them?
* Why would they be coming to your site?
* What do you want them to *do* on the site? Which actions do you want them to take?
* What word they would search to find you?

Once you have the list, you can use tools like Google Trends, Google suggest, and use Google keywords planner to expand it. I usually use those tools in that order to gradually expand the list.

Besides, you can always take advantage fro analyzing your competitors’ websites. It not only serves the purpose of taking keyword ideas from them but also helps you benchmark your business.

![seo benchmark](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/seo-benchmark.png)

To complete this table, you can use: SEOquake, SEMrush, Spyfu, etc. (You can download this table with the link at the end of the post).

By combining the list of keywords you find with your own mind, and SEO tools like Google Trends, Google suggest, keywords planner, SEO quake, etc., you will have a list of short and long, main and ‘sub’ keywords for your site.

There is one thing you should bear in mind that you can’t be dependent on these modern tools as they are more often wrong than right on search volume, especially with small niches. You’ll only know real search volumes if you start advertising for these terms in Google AdWords, but not everybody will have the budget or need to do that.

Another tip for building keyword list is that if you find some keywords that are very competitive. You should find all the keywords surrounding that topic and use these later for a “keyword clustering” technique. This process is very well summarized by an infographic created by [Elliance](http://searchengineoptimization.elliance.com/):

![Keyword clustering](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Keyword-clustering.png)

The result of this stage is to get a list of keywords that covers all the terms that your ideal customers would use to search for you.

### Step 3: Build website and landing page structure

After finding the keywords, it is critical to distributing them in different pages. Each page will serve the purpose of SEO-ing a few keywords. Normally a single webpage should be optimized for 1 or 2 keywords only.

Site structure is a science and an art. You should bear in mind the 3-clicks rule which clarifies that most of customers are patient enough to get what they found in 3 clicks. You should structure your site as simple as possible. If a customer has to click more than 3 times to the end of your conversion funnel. You should consider simplifying it.

![Site structure](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Site-struture.png)

Determine which keywords are your most important ones and make those your top-level pages. You can do this in Excel: each column represents a level of your site, each row a page. Take a site selling fruit juice as an example. This looks something like this:

![Keyword list](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Keyword-list.png)

The structure of your Shopify site will be as follows.

![Shopify site structure](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Shopify-site-structure.jpg)

### Step 4: Write, and build website content

Your content should be written for both human and search engine crawlers. It has to be unique, and valuable while optimized for search engine. All the actions to optimize the keyword placement on the page to make highly recognizable for search engine crawlers are called SEO on-page. SEO on-page tasks mainly include:

* Ensure you are using one, and only one, H1 tag on your pages. H1 (header 1) tags often used as the main headline for a page and they usually contain the page’s main keywords.
* Ensure H1 tags are used before other header tags (H2, H3, H4).Your header tags should be used in a hierarchal order. For example, H1 tag text above H2 tag text and H2 tag text above H3 tag text, and so on.
* Keep your page titles under 70 characters so they aren’t truncated in results.
* Write good page titles that are human-readable. Make sure they include the keywords you are trying to rank for but don’t over optimize or make it a string of keywords.
* Keep your meta description under 150 characters.This is the text under a page title in a search result. Ensure it clearly describes the page and also include keywords but again, don’t over-optimize. Each page’s meta description should be unique.
* Ensure you include a keyword in your page URL. Again, don’t overdo it.
* Keywords are placed in Image Alt tags and names
* Keyword density just under 3%, keyword on top of the page is usually more valuable for page ranking.
* Limit the use of Flash and table
* Include share button on social
* Use No-follow link to decrease linkouts
* High loading speed (check at <https://tools.pingdom.com/> )
* Including Breadcrumbs (help customer identify where they are on your page)

Search engine prefer fresh content so you should frequently update your site content.

### Step 5: Build linking structure

* Build internal link. It serves 2 purposes:

1. Lengthen the time on-page
2. Help crawler crawl your website easily

![Build internal link SEO](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Build-internal-link-SEO.png)

* Build backlink:

“Content is king and backlink is queen” is a famous quote in SEO-er world. Backlink is the link that points to your page. Backlinks indicate the popularity of your page. However, it is not number of backlinks that matter but also the quality of backlinks matters. Your page is more likely to rank higher if your backlink is from a site working in the same or related fields with high trust score already. Building backlinks is a daunting task, it is not only time consuming but also costly. If you increase the backlink number aggressively, it is risky that your site is fined by search engine and won’t appear on their search result page anymore.

### Step 6: Analyze the result

Do weekly check for keyword ranking, traffic, conversion.

Tools to use: Rank Tracker, Google analysis

These above steps can be summarized as in this infographic.

# How can technical SEO make you visible on Google?

An SEO-optimized website is not only fast for users, but it is also easy to crawl for search engine robots. A proper technical set-up can help ‘interpret’ content on a website into a structured ‘machine’ language that helps Google grasp what your pages are about and prevents confusion caused by, for example, duplicate content. For users, technical SEO is also the answer to improving UX by speeding up the website and preventing dead links.

Here is what you need to do to technically optimize your website for SEO:

![](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/3ggnqS0zXoIh0RVrdl4nBqbY78GHJfOFRRnhWUofK8ZqniLiTbTHBSN6wJczRD6QGxvxpo7Z_8CQyqYB2DuoxTLouhySWuAjX-8MAfb3ly04v_5r2x9OWHAfzZ4bxgYWHFJO3tKf)

**1. Add JSON-LD**

In short, JSON-LD is a standardized format that helps structure data in a page and makes it machine-readable data. This structured data helps search-engine robots understand your website and even your brand and business better. By adding JSON-LD, you help to create a more organized and better web overall, which benefits the page ranking.

Normally, SEO experts use Schema.org – a project that was developed by the big search engines – to structure data in a website. On Schema.org, you can find all structured data markup supported by search engines, among which JSON-LD is the safest one which does not break your site as easily as others do. If you find the process too hard for you to handle yourselves, there are also a lot of tools out there to help you out. So don’t worry.

**2. Submit a sitemap**

Simply put, a sitemap is a file that contains links to every publicly accessible page on a website, which is put into different categories based on its specific purpose on a website. Submitting a sitemap ensures that Google will never miss any pages of your site.

Normally, websites with a polished linking structure do not require submitting sitemaps. However, rarely can website dev. A regularly updated sitemap, therefore, is highly recommended in this case. It’s not harmful yet helpful.

**3. Get rid of any dead links**

Nothing can be more frustrating for visitors than landing on a ‘404 errors’ page. Dead links in some cases can ruin the whole user experience even if any other things are already flawless. And what’s worse? Search engines don’t like dead links. Google and other search engines want to present their users with the best quality of content, so they rank the website based on many factors including website quality and level of relevance. Dead links negatively influence how Google evaluates the quality of your website, which in turn decreases your SEO ranking.

Unfortunately, most sites have (at least) one dead link and this in some cases is unavoidable. To avoid any risks of 404 errors to your SEO score, you can redirect the dead URLs to another page that replaces the old one. This replacement can be your home page and any other custom pages as you wish.

**4. Watch out for duplicate content**

Duplicate content refers to the same content appearing on multiple pages of a website. While Google understands that duplicated content across websites is inevitable and it does not penalize that, the duplicate content on the same website is not in this case. As search engines always want to reduce spam, if it finds duplicate content on the same website, the SEO ranking of that website will be affected.

Unfortunately, duplicate content is inevitable sometimes due to the fact that different URLs may show the same content for some technical reasons. This may not affect user experience, but it does affect SEO score and SEO ranking because search engines consider duplicate content as spam. Thus, regularly checking for duplicate content on your website is highly recommended to protect your SEO ranking.

Google algorithm is constantly updated and changed throughout the years. Thus, Google SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is also innovated to match those changes. Webmasters are seeking out new ways to keep up with the game and setting new SEO trends to attain their ranking and outsmart their competitors. This blog will introduce 6 latest SEO trends that have stirred up the competition in 2020 and will continually take the lead in 2021.

### **1. Voice Search – New SEO Trend And How To Start**

Prepare yourself for the invasion of voice search SEO because the revolution of voice search is about to take over. By 2021, it is expected that 50% of the search query will be replaced by voice, not typing. Look around and you will see the increasing use of artificial intelligence which leverages the trend of voice-based searches, such as Google Assistant, Apple Siri, Microsoft Cortana, Amazon Alexa…

Voice search takes account of 20% of all searches performed on mobile devices. Another shocking fact is that Google voice search has increased 35 times compared to 2008. You need to start right now optimizing some of your content for voice search.

#### **Voice Search SEO tips for you:**

Because searchers mostly ask questions such as “How do I…”, “What is…”, “Who is…”, “Why…” you should include questions and answers in your content. Thus, creating FAQ pages will be a smart voice search SEO tactic to start with.

### **2.Video Content – The Growing SEO Trend**

According to a recent study, video content will make a contribution of 80% online traffic by 2021. Users love video content and you will be left behind the game if you can’t create video content and know-how to implement video SEO probably.![video seo trend 2019 ](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/seo-video.png)

Video displayed in Google search results

Youtube is inevitably a huge search engine, which in fact is just the second biggest one after Google. It is recognized as a popular source for many purposes (entertainment, tutorial, studying…) and indeed user spends more time on Youtube to search and watch videos. Youtube videos do not only bring a huge amount of traffic back to your website, but they also take over the search results. There is at least one video in 55% of Google search results. But, to fully take advantage of video, you will need to optimize your videos for Youtube SEO.![video seo trend 2019 google display video in image search](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/seo-video2.png)

Google even includes video in Image search

####

#### **Youtube SEO tips for you:**

* When creating videos, you should always prioritize the content of the video. It needs to be helpful and solve a problem for users as they tend to search for “how to”, “review”, “tutorial”, “fitness”, “funny videos”…
* Keyword must be cleverly included in the video title, description, tags and most importantly throughout your video (Just say the keyword in your video because Youtube can transcribe it).
* Video engagement is an absolutely important factor for Youtube video SEO (if people bounce right after seeing a short part of your video, Youtube sees it as poor-quality video). However, the length of the video should also be taken into account because Youtube prefers longer videos to shorter ones.
* Include videos in your blog posts, share them to forums, social media…so that more people know about it.

### **3.Mobile-First Indexing And SEO Tips For You**

Mobile device comprises 60% of all searches on Google and this number is still growing fast. Website with responsive design is not enough, you need to optimize the user experience for mobile users.

So what is mobile-first indexing? When someone searches from mobile, Google will show results of websites that is mobile-optimized. The rank of your website is also affected by the user experience on mobile devices. You need to develop a mobile-friendly version of your website or else you may lose traffic to others.

#### **Mobile SEO tips for you:**

You need to ensure that the content on both desktop version and mobile version is consistent, which means hidden content isn’t a good idea. Google mobile-first indexing seems to ignore the hidden content, according to a recent research.

Because user experience plays a vital part for Google in deciding the ranking of websites. If mobile searchers visit your website and have a hard time navigating and reading content, they will leave without a second thought. Google will rank your website based on that hard bounce. Don’t let that happen.

![seo trend 2010 mobile-first index](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/seo-mobile.png)

* Use [Google Mobile-Friendly Test Tool](https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly) to identify any problem and get recommendations from Google for a better mobile experience.

![Google Mobile-Friendly Test Tool recommendation](https://wwwcdn.secomapp.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/seo-mobile2.png)

* Use [Google Search Console](https://search.google.com/search-console/about) and check the Mobile Usability report. You will know the flaws and suggestions to resolve them.

### **4. User Experience And Its Importance in SEO**

Google use a machine learning system called RankBrain to determine your rank on search results. Your rank changes depending on how searchers interact with your web content, so if a user has a bad experience and left your page quickly, Rankbrain recognize it and your high ranking is passed to competitors. Simply said, the ultimate goal of this system is to sort out the most helpful results for users.

#### **SEO tips for increasing UX signals:**

* Pay attention to dwell time and CTR\
  Dwell time is the time amount people spend on your page. If your page has good dwell time, it is the signal for Google to give you a better rank. It is reported that top 10 Google results have dwell time around 3 minutes.
* CTR – click through rate is also assessed by Rankbrain to determine your ranking. This is a real challenge considering that Google prioritizes ads, featured snippet, carousel video, “people also ask” section.
* Make the user experience seamless:

After clicking through a link on SERP (Search Engine Result Page), users want the page to deliver the exact content as they expect from the meta title and description. Besides high-retention content to keep them stay on your page, all factors contribute to UX (mobile-optimized design, clear navigation, CTA button…). Seeking to optimize for users, not Google crawlers, that is the most important thing for you to organically gain and retain high rank.

### **5. Long And In-Depth Content**

In the past, Google analyzes your content and check whether your content includes keywords. Now, you have to say goodbye to keyword stuffing, it won’t work well because Google is constantly renovated. In order to deliver the best result to users, Google takes into account both content and context, which means the best way to win the game is to write a comprehensive, long and in-depth topic. This new SEO trend appears to rank best on the search result.

#### **SEO tips to develop in-depth content:**

* Content length: at least 2000 words. Users nowadays want to read quality and longer content that cover a topic so that they can learn everything in one place.
* Evergreen content: Ultimate guide, long-form post, definite e-book. This kind of content is comprehensive and authoritative, which naturally get a lot of shares and backlinks.

* LSI keyword: These are keywords related to the topic. For example, if you write a topic “Shopify guide for beginners”, you need to cover all associated LSI keywords such as: what is Shopify, Shopify users, Shopify partners, Shopify cost, Shopify apps, how to set up Shopify store, Shopify forum… Then when Google crawls your page, it realizes the content as a well-written and quality content. [Use LSI Graph](https://lsigraph.com/), search Google and use keyword planner to assist you.

### **6. Featured Snippet**

Featured snippet is also called the “zero rank” which is even stronger and more powerful than the “first rank”. It attracts more clicks and displays in many forms that provide best answers for searchers. Surely we don’t have to discuss much the effectivenesses of featured snippet. But how can you make content shown up in the featured snippet is the vital question here.

#### **SEO techniques to get Featured Snippet:**

* Find keyword you have already gained high rank. It’s pointless trying to attain the featured snippet if you are not in the top 10.
* How to create snippet bait: What is snippet bait? It is a 40-60 word content that is purposely created to get rank as featured snippet. There are different tactics: you can write a specific part to rank for definition snippet or you can format your content to be suitable for a featured snippet. There are 3 types: paragraph, list, and table snippet. The bait I have mentioned works well for paragraph snippet. For the list snippet, you need to make the subheadings as list for your content, Google will collect the headings and put them in snippet. For the table snippet, you need to create a table form so that Google can easily recognize and get it featured.
